Saturn return calculator
"Between 27 and 30" is a guess. These are your dates: every exact pass of your Saturn return, including the retrograde ones, computed in your browser with no account and nothing stored.
Why it is often three dates
Saturn makes a retrograde loop every year. If that loop runs across your natal degree, Saturn crosses it three times: forward, backward, and forward one last time. Your return is then a season of several months with three exact hits. If your degree lies outside the loop, there is a single pass. Both are normal, and that is exactly why the age rule of thumb fails: two people born the same year can have return dates more than a year apart.
The background, current cohorts and the 1998 sign-change trap are in the article Saturn return: when it actually happens.
Frequently asked questions
What is the Saturn return?
The moment transiting Saturn comes back to the exact degree it held at your birth, roughly every 29.5 years. Because of Saturn's yearly retrograde loop, a return often consists of three exact hits spread over several months, not a single date.
Why doesn't the calculator ask for a birth time?
Saturn moves at most about 0.13 degrees per day. Even half a day of uncertainty shifts the return dates by less than a day. The calculator uses 12:00 Universal Time on your birthday; a birth time would make it no meaningfully more precise.
Why do I get three dates while my friend gets one?
It depends on whether Saturn's retrograde loop runs across your natal degree. If it does, Saturn crosses the degree three times: forward, backward, forward again. If your degree lies outside the loop, there is exactly one crossing.
How accurate are the dates?
Positions are geocentric apparent ecliptic longitudes of date, accurate to about one arcminute; the zero crossings are refined to the minute and displayed as calendar days (Universal Time). The methodology of the underlying engine is documented on the accuracy page.
Is my data stored?
No. The computation runs entirely in your browser; there is no server call and nothing is stored.
